Houki 箒 was in charge of keeping the rivers and beaches clean. Especially during autumn when a lot of residents drop their leaves it was Houki's task to keep all the areas clean and tidy. The leaves could influence the water quality and the Gero Gero Gama are very strict about that. When all food and drinks comes from the waters, it is extremely important to preserve the best quality. Houki would help gather all the leaves in a big bag and carry it to the center of the forest so that other residents could pick up the different leaves to re-use them. Usually for decorational purposes. Houki would be described as strong, independent and loyal. Houki means 'broom' in Japanese.
This Gero Gero Gama is part of the autumn 2024 collection. Mamorumori forest comes alive with vibrant autumn colors. Residents gather nuts and berries while preparing for winter. Houki is a VIR: very important resident. Very important residents are slightly more special than regular residents. They all own/hold on to/have something really unique. All residents of Mamorumori forest are one of a kind, but VIR have had some sort of special role in the forest. Houki is a Gero Gero Gama that did not fish. The founder Rabbit asked him to take care of something entirely different; being the only Gero Gero Gama doing so.
