Akari 明かり is a little late. He was very busy with the large amount of tourists that visited the Cherry Blossom viewing nearby mamorumori forest. Akari really loves the cherry blossom viewing since it is the only time he can perform with his friends in front of strangers. Akari might seem a little shy but he is a real showsman. Performing, taking care of everything and making jokes is what he does best.
Akari is part of the Cherry Blossom Collection of 2020. This collection contains a number of residents that appear during cherry blossom season in mamorumori forest. It is inspired by the famous cherry blossom season that appears throughout Japan each year. Lots of different browns (branches) and different pinks (petals) run through the island throughout late March and early April. Akari means 'glow' and comes from the word 'hana akari' which describes the soft glow that seems to come from a cherry blossom tree in full bloom at night.
This springplom is approximately 42cm high x 20 cm broad x 19 cm deep. Completely handmade out of local fabrics, polyester filling and DMC threads for details. Please do not put this springplom in the washing machine as they might not survive the ride. Gently try to clean her by hand, if needed (at mamorumori we like to think they stay clean but you never know).
