Nameko 滑子 loves miso soup and nabemono. They are both Japanese dishes that her Plum Rabbit mother used to make where she grew up. The smell that left the Plum Rabbit house was easy to notice near Nameko's home. Every night she would do a guessing game with her friends to decide what was for dinner that day. Apparantly the mushroom flavor was widely popular in the area where Nameko lived. Her love for these Japanese dishes got her the name of Nameko. Nameko has lived in the Mamorumori for several years. She is looking for a home outside of the forest. Autumn is her favorite season because her birthday is during this season. Celebrating is one of Nameko's favorite hobbies. She is quite good at organizing events and celebrations.
Nameko is the Japanese name for a Pholiota microspora Fungus (mushroom). It's a popular ingredient for some Japanese dishes.
This auplom is part of the autumn 2021 collection. With summer in the past the autumn residents need to clean up the mess and prepare for the next festivities. A whole new season is arriving and many colors are changing.
Auploms are made out of mostly polyester and local fabrics. When dirty please try to gently handwash as they are afraid of washing machines and dry cleaners. An auplom is approximately 8x8x8 cm.
